July 2012 – Fresh lamb, pork, chickens and fruit

Our butchery will be open Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st July, selling the following meat:

Fresh lamb

– Fresh pork and home-made sausages

– Home-cured bacon, gammons and gammon steaks

– Local free range oven-ready Chickens (from Alpha farms at Hilton). We order the chickens in batches approximately every 2-3 weeks so please e-mail us if you’d like a chicken so that we can order the correct number from Alpha farms each time.

 Just a reminder that strawberries and raspberries are available Mon-Sat 8am-6pm throughout July from the farm shop.

We are also open each Saturday during July for Pick Your Own strawberries.

 

 

June 2012 – Fresh meat and Swavesey Festival

Fresh Pork

– Friday 15th and Saturday 16th June

– Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd June

Fresh beef

– Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th July

This is earlier than we were expecting to have beef as the rain has made the grass grow and the animals fatten more quickly than usual! We will be making lots more of our home-made beef burgers, perfect for the BBQ.

 

Swavesey Festival 2012

Pick your own straberries at our Open Farm Saturday 16th June

Do come and visit us on Saturday 16th June, as part of Swavesey Festival we are holding an Open farm, so come and have a look round, meet the animals, see where your meat comes from and pick your own strawberries.

The following Saturday, 23rd June, we plan to BBQ our home-made sausages and dry-cured bacon on the green as part of the final day of the Festival. We will also be selling fresh strawberries alongside the BBQ as afters!

May/June 2012 – Strawberries, asparagus, pork and lamb

Strawberries and asparagus are now available in the farm shop, Mon-Sat 8am-6pm.                                     

Both crops have been delayed this year by the unusally cold weather over the last couple of months, but they’re now up and running and as tasty as ever!   

Raspberries will hopefully be starting in June. 

Please do contact us if you have specific events or larger orders so we can do our best to ensure you get your strawberries when you need them.

 

 

Fresh pork, sausages, bacon and lamb will be available from the butchery at the farm Thursday 31st May – Saturday 2nd June.

Please do order early, especially if there are specific cuts you would like as the meat sells out very quickly. 

As usual we do have a limited amount of frozen meat, please e-mail or call us for details.

 

 

 

April 2012 – fresh pork, sausages & bacon

We are also delighted to say that we had our first Environmental Health inspection on Thursday 2nd February and were awarded a 5* rating for food safety and hygiene!

January 2012

Happy New Year to all of our customers!

These are our most recent arrivals on the farm, 10 beautiful little pedigree Hampshire piglets, born December 23rd, they’re already growing well and finding their way around.

Fresh meat available  from the farm in January and February 2012:

  • Fresh pork and sausages from Thursday 12th January – Saturday 14th January

  • Fresh beef from Thursday 2nd February – Saturday 4th February

We have also got the following frozen meat available:

  • Bacon

  • Stewing and braising steak (500g packs)

  • Beef mince (500g packs)

  • A few other joints and cuts of pork, beef and lamb, e-mail us for details

As usual, please do e-mail us promptly if there are any specifc cuts or joints of fresh meat that you are looking for as they sell out very quickly.

December 2011

Christmas meat

  • Fresh pork, sausages, chipolatas and lamb will be available from the farm on 1st, 2nd and 3rd December. This will be the final batch of fresh pork and lamb this year so the last chance to stock up before Christmas!
  • Fresh beef will be available Wednesday and Thursday of Christmas week (21st and 22nd December).
  • Christmas gammons and bacon will be ready for collection Tuesday – Friday of Christmas week (20th – 23rd December).

As always, please e-mail us orders as early as possible to avoid disappointment, particularly for Christmas gammons and bacon, although all of our meat is selling out very quickly.

Looking ahead to January 2012, we hope to have fresh beef, pork and lamb available from around the middle of the month, more updates to follow.

We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our customers for your enthusiam and loyalty through 2011, and hope you all have a very happy (and tasty!) Christmas and New Year!
